Joe's Garage (34/365)

Joe's Garage - Frank Zappa: This LP was always streaming out Steve's bedroom speakers. Zappa was just quirky enough, just zany enough to capture his attention. Now every Friday (12 -1pm) WNCW airs a show called Frank on Fridays, where they play nothing but Zappa and Zappa covers. Wicked good.

It wasn't very large
There was just enough room to cram the drums
In the corner over by the dodge
It was a fifty-four
With a mashed up door
And a cheesy little amp
With a sign on the front said fender champ
And a second hand guitar
It was a stratocaster with a whammy bar

I had a couple of friends in high school who were really into Zappa, but all I can remember is hearing an album that had "The Adventures Gregory Peckory" on it. I should really follow up and learn more about this legend's stuff.

My husband was into Zappa in grad school. I didn't dislike his music - but couldn't quite figure it out.
