WXRT (11/365)
WXRT : My BIGGEST musical influence. When I was ten (1972) WXRT started off by station-sharing. Went to sleep rocking. Woke-up to some Spanish dude shouting at me. 1976 'XRT became full-time. It never disappoints! Although I'm now a long way from home, the 'X is net-friendly.
Rock On Terri! My R&R mentor, hero and role model for over 34 years.

Now, that's devotion! I'm impressed...
I had a little radio when I was a kid that only picked up one station, and I usually went to sleep with it on. I knew all the top 40 back then!
Raleigh is/was a musical desert.
Charlotte has two stations that are note-worthy.
WNCW, a heavy on the blue-grass station, which is hard to pick-up on cloudy days because it comes from Spindale, NC (a tiny town up in the mountains) and
WSGE, a heavy on the blues (YES!!!) station from Dallas, NC.
Otherwise I'm basically starving to death here. I daily thank GOD I can pick WXRT up via the net. I'm hip again.
My husband is a WXRT fan - he always tunes into it when we head into Chicago. I was a WLS fan back in the day -
Now I prefer silence or NPR.
It's great that you still have an old radio station you love, one you grew up with!
Do you know that Tom Petty song called "The Last DJ"...? I can relate to that.
Amazing that they still have the same DJ's. I loved my old school XRT-shirt. Teri is the best.
