Graceland (17/365)

Graceland - Paul Simon: When this CD came out I listened to it everyday for at least a year. I simply couldn't get enough. Mike told me he would choke me if he ever heard it playing again. You can check the choke marks on my neck, he wasn't kidding.

This one's for you Mike!!!
Love You!

I believe that this was the very last album I bought on vinyl.

It was one of those albums I didn't have to buy because everyone I knew already had one. Like Tapestry or Rumors or Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.

Jeez - I want to watch that video but I can't from home.

Wow. That was wonderful. I grinned all through it. I'd never seen LBM in action before--they were super! And Paul looks so young. Was it that long ago that the album came out? I guess so, if IB bought it on vinyl. I had the cassette first; it was my walking tape. Watching that video got me psyched! I swear, if we didn't have a layer of ice on the road I'd go out for a dance/walk tonight. Thanks!

Oh man, how can he get sick of a song like this? It's one of those all time great songs, and also one of the all time great driving songs on one of the all time greatest driving albums.

PS: Any idea where that video was recorded?

Susan, The video was recorded in 1987 in Africa.

To All, This is one of those LPs that is like a complete novel for me. It has to be listened to all the way through.

BO, Mike can be a real knuckle head. Next time he visits why don't you put that CD on and see what happens. Oh and BTW never ask him if he likes The String Cheese Incident.

That's great! I haven't listened to that for ages, but it will be on the CD tonight (if I can find it - one of my first CD purchases)

PS Having the song links here makes the blog - I listen even if I have little to say. Thanks!

Oh, good--thanks. I was hoping it was Africa.
